Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Monday at 12.27 pm, both Sensex and Nifty were trading in the green zone. Sensex was up by 0.93 per cent at 61,876.05 while Nifty was at 18,512.00, up by 0.95 per cent.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Infosys, Tech Mahindra and ICICI Bank, which jumped 3.22 per cent, 2.81 per cent & 2.70 per cent.
Meanwhile, the top three losers are Mahindra & Mahindra, HCL Technologies and Bajaj Auto, which plunged 1.77 per cent, 1.64 per cent & 1.34 per cent, respectively.
