Five stocks witnessing long unwinding
Long unwinding refers to selling of positions or stocks owned for a longer period either to book profit or to exit it in anticipation of impending bearishness.
On the first trading session of the week, both Sensex & Nifty opened in the positive territory but soon, both gave up morning gains and drifted towards the red zone. However at 11.50 am, Sensex recovered and was seen trading at 61,071.19, up by 0.41 per cent while Nifty inched higher by 0.21 per cent at 18,153.40 levels.
ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and State Bank of India emerged as the top three gainers today, which surged 12.63 per cent, 5.03 per cent & 2.10 per cent, respectively.
