Equitas Small Finance Bank emerges as the top performing private bank on YTD basis; Yes Bank features as one of the worst performers!

The private banks have underperformed in the past one week and in the past month as well. HDFC Bank is the top performing private bank in the past one month soaring by 5.59 per cent with only AU Small Finance Bank doing better than HDFC Bank by recording gains of more than 11 per cent in similar period. 

BSE Sensex is up by 16.90 per cent on YTD basis. We find that at least 6 private banks have outperformed Sensex in 2021. The top performing private bank of 2021 is Equitas Small Finance Bank. Equitas Small Finance has soared by 51.66 per cent on YTD basis followed by AU Small Finance Bank that gained by 47.93 per cent. 

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank was the worst performing private bank of 2021, slipping by more than 53 per cent followed by Yes Bank that slipped by more than 39 per cent. Bandhan Bank is down by more than 33 per cent while RBL Bank and DCB Banks dropped by ~31 per cent and ~30 per cent each.
