EPL joins hands with Unilever post partnering with GSK Consumer; gains 4 per cent
The world’s largest speciality packaging company, EPL Limited, which was formerly known as Essel Propack Limited has been selected by Unilever in its journey towards achieving 100 per cent sustainability in the oral care segment.
According to the partnership, EPL will supply its APR-approved 100 per cent recyclable and fully-sustainable Platina tubes, for the complete & wide range of toothpaste categories of Unilever. EPL’s Platina tube with HDPE closure is said to be the world’s first fully-sustainable and completely recyclable tube accredited by APR. This will help Unilever's oral care brands such as Signal, Pepsodent, and Closeup to be 100 per cent recyclable by 2025. Unilever will be launching fully-recyclable tubes this year in the later months in two of its biggest oral care markets i.e. France and India.
EPL Limited is the world’s largest speciality packaging company, manufacturing laminated plastic tubes catering to the FMCG and pharma sectors. Employing 3,158 people from 25 nationalities, EPL operates through 19 state-of-the-art facilities in eleven countries, with sales volumes of over 8 billion tubes per annum.
At 9.50 am on Tuesday, the shares of EPL Ltd were trading 4.56 per cent higher at Rs 238.40 on BSE.
