List of small cap stocks that gained more than 10 per cent since the benchmark indices hit its recent high.

After hitting a record high on January 17, 2022, during the last one month, domestic equities have dropped sharply by about 6 per cent followed by some recovery but remained rangebound and depicted volatility.

BSE's Sensex recorded negative returns of 6.54 per cent during the period whereas Nifty has fallen by 6.6 per cent. In the broader markets, BSE Smallcap index plunged around 14.27 per cent whereas BSE Midcap index contracted around 10.43 per cent, underperforming the benchmark indices.

Pulling out the data for returns recorded by smallcap stocks, 28 stocks have outperformed the smallcap stocks space and have recorded gains beyond 10 per cent. The top 5 stocks include Sharda Cropchem, DB Realty, TCPL Packaging, Orient Bell, Shankara Building Products and Vishnu Chemicals. 

Shares of Sharda Cropchem Ltd have surged on a healthy outlook for the agrochemical industry. The firm reported robust third-quarter revenues up 78 per cent on a year on year basis at Rs 880 crore due to strong volume growth (51 per cent) and higher realisation (27 per cent). The agrochemical revenues grew 80 per cent on a YoY basis to Rs 720 crore while non-agrochemicals sales rose 71 per cent to Rs 160 crore. On the other hand, net profit surged 112 per cent to Rs 100 crore.
