Bulls dominate Sensex & Nifty; Thyrocare Technologies gains by 15 per cent, Ramco Systems locks at upper circuit

On Tuesday, bulls dominated the domestic markets as Sensex surged by 600.87 points or 1.54 per cent to close at 39,574.57 levels while Nifty rose by 159.05 points or 1.38 per cent to settle at 11,662.40 levels.

While banking and financial stocks witnessed renewed investor interest, the buying excitement in IT & pharma stocks seemed to be cooling off.

Ramco Systems informed that Toll Logistics, which is one of Asia Pacific's leading integrated logistics services providers having business operations in road, rail, sea, air & warehousing, has signed a deal with Ramco Logistics.

The shares of Tata Motors soared high during today’s trading session after Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) reported positive growth in sales numbers for Q2FY21.

Asian stocks such as Hang Seng, Nikkei, and KOSPI closed higher by 0.90 per cent, 0.52 per cent, and 0.34 per cent, respectively whereas, European indices were seen trading mixed as FTSE 100 was down by 0.10 per cent while CAC 40 was trading up by 0.25 per cent.

On Tuesday, the Indian rupee settled 17 paise lower at 73.46 (provisional) for the day against the US dollar, compared to its previous close of 73.29.

Sensex gainers consisted of HDFC that went up by 8.35 per cent, IndusInd Bank rose by 3.44 per cent, Mahindra & Mahindra increased by 3.42 per cent, Asian Paints gained by 3.16 per cent, Bajaj Finance surged by 2.80 per cent, HDFC Bank jumped 2.70 per cent, UltraTech Cement gained by 2.22 per cent, etc.

Sensex losers included Tata Steel, which went down by 1.26 per cent, Nestle India fell by 1 per cent, Larsen & Toubro declined by 0.46 per cent, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries decreased by 0.45 per cent, NTPC fell by 0.24 per cent and RIL closed flat.

Amongst sectoral indices on BSE, Finance was the biggest gainer, up by 3.04 per cent, followed by Realty and Bankex that gained by 2.41 per cent and 2.06 per cent, respectively whereas, Metal index became the biggest loser, down by 0.58 per cent. In broader markets, BSE Small-Cap index gained by 0.55 per cent and BSE Mid-Cap index rose by 0.59 per cent.
