BSE Private Banks Index Soars 1.39 percent; Top Gainer - AU Small Finance Bank Jumps 8.15 per cent; IDFC First Bank Top Loser
AU Small Finance Bank was the top gainer of the index, skyrocketing 8.15 per cent to close at Rs 1115.15 per share.
S&P BSE Private Banks Index soared by 1.39 per cent outperforming the frontline indices after recording gains of 189.81 points, while the Sensex ended flat down 0.04 per cent or 18.82 points to close at 52,861.
AU Small Finance Bank was the top gainer of the index, skyrocketing 8.15 per cent to close at Rs 1115.15 per share. The bank gave a boost to the investors by reporting robust results for the quarter ended June 2021. The stock gained with heavy volumes.
HDFC Bank also gained by 2.63 per cent on the back of a strong set of earnings announced yesterday to close the session at Rs 1534.35 per share. Kotak Mahindra gained 1.24 per cent. IndusInd Bank and City Union Bank rose by more than 0.5 per cent each.
ICICI Bank ended on a flat note at Rs 649 per share, up by 0.21 per cent. RBL Bank, Axis Bank DCB slipped o Tuesday closing in red by losing 0.19 per cent, 0.20 per cent and 0.33 per cent respectively.
Bandhan Bank was down by 0.56%, while IDFC First Bank was the top loser of the index falling by 1.38 per cent to close at Rs 53.70 per share.
Overall the markets saw profit book led by turn in the sentiments in Tata Motors.
