BSE 500: New-age tech companies zoom on the bourses on August 2
Zomato and Policy Bazaar were among the biggest gainers in the "A" Group in today’s session.
At the closing bell on August 2, the Sensex closed flat at 58,136.36, up by 21 points, while the Nifty index closed at 17,345.45, up by 5 points amid volatility.
Zomato and Policy Bazaar witnessed positive action in today’s session.
Shares of Zomato Ltd were locked in the upper circuit of 20 per cent in today’s session at Rs 55.60. The rally was triggered by the June quarter earnings declared by the company on August 1. Food delivery platform Zomato has narrowed losses to Rs 186 crore from Rs 359 crore reported in Q1 last year. It breaks-even at EBITDA level in the food delivery business.The company has also transitioned from a single CEO to appointing four CEOs. The stock which logged its 52-week low last week on July 27 at Rs 40.55, was the biggest gainer in the "A" Group in today’s session.
PB Fintech Ltd (Policy Bazaar), another new-age tech company which logged its 52-week low on July 27 at Rs 455, witnessed a rally of 11.28 per cent in today’s session and closed at Rs 559.50. The shares of Policy Bazaar hit an intra-day high and low of Rs 566.45 and Rs 506, respectively.
