BHEL wins order for main guns of frontline ships; stock ends positively
Under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received orders for the supply of two super rapid gun mounts (SRGM), main guns standardised for all warships from the Indian Navy.
Apart from indigenising these guns, the company has established dedicated, intricate manufacturing and inspection facilities at its Heavy Electrical Equipment Plant situated in Haridwar for production, installation, commissioning, and lifecycle support of these guns.
The standardisation of these guns by the Indian Navy has led to cost optimisation, consolidation of expertise and more importantly, self-reliance. The company is working on the upgraded version of these guns with an enhanced range to cater to the future requirement of warships.
BHEL has been reliable and an important supplier of critical equipment & services in the defence & aerospace sector for more than three decades now. Apart from providing its services to the thermal power sector, it also offers a broad range of products for the major sectors of the Indian economy.
On Thursday, the shares of the company closed at a price of Rs 38.60 per share, which is 0.92 per cent above its previous close.
