Best performing equity funds in FY22
Equity markets gave double-digit returns in the fiscal year 2022 and equity mutual funds followed the suit. In this article, we have listed the top-performing equity funds in FY22.
In the fiscal year 2022, the equity market (Nifty 50) returned around 18.83 per cent with the broader markets outperforming the frontline indices. Nifty Mid-Cap 150 Total Returns Index (TRI) returned 23.12 per cent, while Nifty Small-Cap 250 TRI returned 34.38 per cent.
Even the equity funds (excluding sectoral, thematic and index funds) followed the suit by collectively returning 18.75 per cent. Further, in equity mutual funds, small-cap funds performed well generating 35.6 per cent returns, followed by multi-cap and mid-cap funds returning 26.06 per cent and 23.29 per cent, respectively.
Among sectoral and thematic funds, IT did well with 40.43 per cent returns in fiscal 2022, followed by PSU funds, energy funds and infrastructure funds generating returns of 29.58 per cent, 29.29 per cent, 26.05 per cent, respectively.
