BEL surges over 5 per cent after securing a contract worth Rs 1075 crore
This contract pertains to retro-modification of Commander Sight of Battle Tanks-T90 for the Indian Army.
Bharat Electronics Ltd, a Navratna Defense PSU rallied over 5 per cent after the company announced signing a contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Government of India.

As per the press release, the retro-modification will be carried out in 957 tanks.
The MWIR-based sight can detect the targets at a distance of 8 km during the day as well as at night. Apart from this, it also makes use of a Laser Ranger Finder (LRF) to find the ranges accurately up to 5 km, resulting in an enhanced capability of engaging the target at longer ranges.
At the closing bell, the shares of Bharat Electronics Ltd were trading at Rs 210.30, an increase of 5.12 per cent from the previous closing price of Rs 200.05 on BSE.
