Ather Energy Files Red Herring Prospectus For Rs 2,626 Crore IPO, Company’s Associate Plans Fresh Issue And Offer For Sale Of Shares

Ather Energy Limited, an associate company of Hero MotoCorp Ltd, has announced its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The announcement was made through a filing with the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and the BSE Limited on April 22, 2025.
The Red Herring Prospectus (RHP) for the IPO was filed on April 22, 2025, with the Registrar of Companies, Securities and Exchange Board of India, BSE Limited, and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited. The IPO will consist of a fresh issue of Equity Shares aggregating up to Rs 26,260 million. Additionally, there will be an offer for sale of Equity Shares aggregating up to 11,051,746 equity shares by certain existing and eligible shareholders of Ather Energy.
Hero MotoCorp Ltd. initially made an intimation regarding the proposed IPO on September 9, 2024.
About Company
Hero Moto Corp earlier also known as “Hero Honda” is one of India’s first motorcycle manufacturers. The company started in 1984 as a Technological collaboration with Honda, Japan. Before this collaboration, Hero was selling Cycles under the brand name, Hero Cycles. In 2011, Honda group sold its 26 per cent stake in the company to the Munjals (promoters) and ended the JV. Post the termination of JV, the name of the company was changed to Hero Motocorp.
Currently, the stock is trading at Rs 3,834 per share with a market cap of Rs 76,676 crore. The stock has made a 52-week high of Rs 6,246 and a 52-week low of Rs 3,323. In the last one month the stock has given 6.3 per cent returns while Nifty 50 has given only 2 per cent returns. In the longer term 5 Years) the stock has logged 102 per cent returns but remained under performer against the benchmark index.
