Opening Bell: Markets open higher amid positive global cues with pharma and auto sectors leading the markets!

Ukraine and Russian governments are going to hold peace talks for the first time in two weeks wherein, Ukraine is advocating for neutrality thereby, raising hopes for an end to the ongoing war.  

Crude oil prices tumbled by more than a per cent while S&P 500 index went up by 2.68 per cent in the last trading session.

Nasdaq was also up by 1.32 per cent at the time of market close on Monday, whereas the Asian markets were also marginally on the upper side, with only Shanghai Stock Exchange suffering a bearish wave due to the severe lockdown announced by the Chinese Government.  

Sensex is at 57,800.73, up by 207.24  points or 0.38 per cent whereas Nifty 50 is at 17,291.65, up by  69.65  points or 0.40 per cent, maintaining the 17,000 mark.  

BSE Midcap was trading at 23,88873.61, up by 0.75 per cent and BSE Smallcap was at 27,819.29, up by 0.60 per cent. Similarly, Nifty Midcap 100 was at 29,364.20 , up by 0.49 per cent and Nifty Smallcap 100 was at 10,276.85, up by 0.46 per cent.    

The top gainers on the frontline indices this morning were Bharti Airtel, SBI Life Insurance Company, UltraTech Cement, HDFC, Asian Paints, and HUL. 

Likewise, the top losers were ITC, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finserv, ONGC, Coal India, Eicher Motors, and Hindalco Industries.  

On BSE, 1,769 shares have advanced while 1,275 shares declined and 117 shares are unchanged. Also, 168 stocks have hit their upper circuit while 198 stocks hit the lower circuit.    

The top trending stocks on BSE, this morning are Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Adani Power Transmission, Cummins India, GNFC, and Lemon Tree Hotels. 

On the sectoral front, metal, media, and energy stocks were dragging the broader indices whereas, pharma stocks were trading on the higher side.
