Nifty 50 began higher on Tuesday, supported by solid global trends. In this post, we have highlighted the top stocks that are experiencing a big price volume breakout.
Nifty 50 index began higher on Tuesday at 18,183.95, up from its previous closing of 18,118.55. This was due to strong global trends. The leading Wall Street indices finished the day significantly higher. This might be attributed to a boom in interest in technology and semiconductor stocks.
In overnight trade, Nasdaq Composite rose 2.01 per cent, Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.76 per cent, and S&P 500 surged 1.19 per cent. Following the overnight activity on Wall Street, Asian indices are trading in the green, with Hong Kong's Hang Seng leading the way.
Nifty 50 was trading at 18,149.95 at 11:30 a.m., up 31.4 points or 0.17 per cent. Frontline indices, on the other hand, outperformed broader market indices. The Nifty Mid-Cap 100 index and the Nifty Small-Cap 100 index each were trading down by 0.29 per cent.
On the BSE, the advance-decline ratio was neutral, with 1629 stocks rising, 1664 falling, and 187 staying unchanged. Apart from metals, pharma, banks and realty, all other sectors were trading flat to negative.
According to January 23 statistics, FIIs were net sellers while DIIs were net purchasers. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold Rs 219.87 crore worth of shares. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) purchased shares worth Rs 434.96 crore. FIIs net sold shares of Rs 20,099.98 crore in the month so far, while DIIs bought shares worth Rs 16,617.34 crore.
