A solid positive breakout is seen in these stocks; do you hold them?

Despite mixed global trends, the Nifty 50 started higher. In this post, we have highlighted top stocks that are experiencing a solid positive breakout.

On Wednesday, Nifty 50 began higher at 17,759.55, up from its previous closing of 17,722.3. This was despite mixed global signals. Ahead of the fresh US inflation statistics, leading Wall Street indices concluded mixed on Tuesday.

Interest rates are still on the minds of investors ahead of the Fed meeting, which concludes on May 3. After the positive labour market statistics from the previous week, traders are increasingly betting that the US Fed would likely increase interest rates by another 25 basis points (100 basis points = 1 per cent).

In overnight trade, Nasdaq Composite sank 0.43 per cent, Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.29 per cent, and S&P 500 closed flat. Their respective futures, however, were trading flat with a bullish tilt at the time of writing. On Wednesday, Asian market indices were largely higher as well. Except for Hong Kong's Hang Seng, all other indices were trading in the green.

Nifty 50 was trading at 17,751.4 at 10:00 a.m., up 29.1 points or 0.16 per cent. Frontline indices, on the other hand, underperformed broader market indices. Nifty Mid-Cap 100 index rose 0.31 per cent and Nifty Small-Cap 100 index increased by 0.28 per cent.

The advance-decline ratio on the BSE was favourable, with 1878 stocks rising, 1054 falling, and 93 staying unchanged. Except for PSU Bank and FMCG, all other sectors were trading in the green.

FIIs were net purchasers, while DIIs were net sellers, according to statistics as of April 11. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) invested Rs 342.84 crore in shares. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) sold shares worth Rs 264.02 crore.
