Hurricane in Houston strengthens refining stocks
In the wake of a hurricane hitting Houston in the US, refining stocks have been gaining grounds on the bourses with the market betting on margin surges. The shares of Chennai Petroleum Corporation increased by 2.64% at Rs 427 per share on the BSE at 1121 hours. The stock traded its new 52-week high value at Rs 432.95 per share on Tuesday and attracted total traded volume of 18,32,085 shares and traded value of Rs 7,813.48 lakhs on the NSE at 1122 hours.
Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) was trading up by 1.65% at Rs 129 per share on the BSE at 1124 hours. It opened at Rs 127.65 per share and attracted total traded volume of 17,31,638 shares and traded value of Rs 2,230.70 lakhs on the NSE at 1126 hours.
The scrip of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) was also trading higher by 1.19% at Rs 514 per share on the BSE at 1128 hours. It opened at Rs 510 per share and attracted total traded volume of 16,51,751 shares and traded value of Rs 8,486.70 lakhs on the NSE at 1127 hours.
