Two patents granted to Newgen Software
Newgen Software Technologies has received patents for its inventions from the Indian Patent Office. These patents will help the company expand the reach of its products.
The patents received include Patent Number 308375, entitled ‘A Method and System for Automatic Data Extraction’ and Patent Number 305015, entitled ‘Automated Identification of Nature of a User in a Network Based System’.
The invention with Patent No. 308375 empowers organizations to extract handwritten information from documents. This will help the financial institutions to easily verify signatures on a cheque image, facilitating a seamless cheque clearing cycle.
The invention with Patent No. 305015 overcomes the existing challenges faced by current captcha systems. The technology enables organizations to automatically identify whether a user visiting their website is a robot or a human, with the help of a video captcha or an animated captcha.
These patents will help the company to expand the reach of its products. Till date, Newgen has filed for 44 patents, of which 10 have been already granted and 3 patents are under examination in the US.
Newgen Software is a provider of Business Process Management (BPM), Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Customer Communication Management (CCM) platforms.
On Tuesday, the stock of Newgen closed at Rs. 299.75 per share. On Wednesday, it surged by 4.8 per cent to Rs. 314.35 per share in the morning trading session.
