Omkar Speciality receives patent for Halquinol
Omkar Speciality Chemicals can now produce Halquinol product on receiving the grant of the process patent. The stocks hit its upper circuit limit on Thursday morning.
Halquinol is a non-antibiotic antimicrobial mixture of chlorohydroxyquinolines. It acts as a growth promoter in poultry and in meat producing animals. The product can be used as a feed additive for poultry and livestock. It also can be used for the control and treatment of diarrhoea. It acts in the intestinal tract and helps the peristaltic activity which supports the absorption of nutrients. The management believes that this patent is a big achievement for the company as it has been granted after validating the strong technicalities and the high economic significance of this process.
Omkar Speciality Chemicals is engaged in the manufacturing and dealing of chemicals. They are also engaged in the pharma value chain The company manufactures organic and inorganic chemicals compounds including nitrogenous energetic compounds (n.e.c). Its segments include Iodine Derivatives, Selenium Derivatives, Resolving Agents, Intermediates and APIs.
On Thursday, the stock of Omkar Speciality opened at Rs 25.96 per share marking the upper circuit level. Its 52-week high was 82.05 and the 52-week low was at Rs 8.72. Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex at 12:35 was at 36,323.99 level, down by 0.44 per cent.
