Wipro partners with CloudKnox Security, enhancing cloud security
IT company, Wipro Limited declared its tie-up with CloudKnox Security, a cybersecurity start-up, to enable enterprises to proactively safeguard and manage their hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure by detecting and remediating over-permissioned identities.
Through its recently announced US$ 150 million Fund II, Wipro Ventures, the corporate infrastructure arm of the company, has also invested in CloudKnox with an aim to strengthen the strategic partnership.
There is an increased risk of cybersecurity vulnerabilities with the adoption of hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure increase in enterprises. Therefore, as a remedy to these problems, Wipro will offer access governance for hybrid cloud 'as-a-service' offering, powered by CloudKnox, providing continuous protection of critical cloud resources for customers by imposing least privilege policies.
Sheetal Mehta, Chief Information Security Officer & Senior Vice President, Cybersecurity & Risk Services of Wipro Limited, while speaking on the announcement, stated that by entering into the partnership, Wipro has a first-mover advantage offering identity governance and secure cloud workloads for customers who are migrating and managing hybrid cloud infrastructures. She further said that the current market environment is fuelling large-scale adoption of multi-cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructures, creating even greater global demand for the CloudKnox platform.
The company's stock was trading at Rs 207.30 on Friday at 11 am, down by 2.58 per cent or Rs 5.50 per share. The 52-week high is Rs 301.55 and the 52-week low is Rs 159.60 on BSE.
