The benchmark indices traded with heavy losses during the morning session. Telecom shares witnessed most buying while selling pressure was seen across various sectors. Arvind Smartspaces jumped 9.02 per cent after Quant Mutual Fund acquired a 1.18 per cent stake in the company via a bulk deal on BSE on Tuesday.
At 11.29 am, Sensex was trading with losses with a fall of 364 points at the level of 58,832. Similarly, the Mid-Cap index declined 11 points and is currently trading at a level of 25,690. The Small-Cap index, on the other hand, trades with a gain of 107 points at the level of 29,193.
Nifty 50 index slid 94 points from its previous close, trading at a level of 17,561. Bank Nifty, similarly, dropped 267 points and is currently trading at a level of 39,398. Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth Rs 1,144.53 crore on September 6 while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 632.97 crore.
