G G Engineering Ltd, Mathew Easow Research Securities, and HB Leasing & Finance Co Ltd emerged as the top-gaining penny stocks on the BSE.
The Indian benchmark indices opened the session with substantial gains, driven by significant rises in the information technology, utilities, power, and oil & gas sectors. All sectoral indices were showing positive trends, with real estate, metals, and FMCG experiencing comparatively modest gains.
The broader indices also recorded gains that mirrored the upward movement seen in the main indices. With 2,018 shares rising on the BSE and 1,027 shares declining, the advance-decline ratio strongly remained in favour of advances. Emerging as the Top Gainers in the BSE Smallcap segment, Rossell India Ltd, Aster DM Healthcare Ltd, and Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd garnered the attention of Small-Cap bulls with their robust upward trends.
As of 10:40 am, the BSE Sensex was positioned at the 66,550 level, marking a 0.57 per cent gain, while the Nifty 50 index saw a surge of 0.57 per cent, reaching a level of 20,003. On the Sensex, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, and Mahindra & Mahindra were among the top gainers, whereas Bajaj Finserv, ITC Ltd and Nestle India were among the market draggers.
