Watch out for these penny stocks locked in the upper circuit on May 25

BSE Sensex opened on a positive note, following the Asian market cues by 50 points to 54,124.63 at 10.55 am.

The domestic market opened in the green with a small gain in the volatile market. Banks and financial services opened about a per cent higher, followed by minor gains in pharma & FMCG. On the international front, the US stock market saw yet another round of volatility. All the Asian indices trade in the green, indicating mixed investor optimism. The top three equities are Shanghai SE (+0.58 per cent), Hang Seng (+0.58 per cent), and Nikkei (+0.11 per cent).  

BSE Sensex opened on a positive note, following the Asian market cues by 50 points to 54,124.63 at 10.55 am. On the other hand, S&P BSE Midcap index declined 121 points and trades at 22,087.64 levels. S&P BSE Smallcap plummeted 303 points and trades at 25,580.44 levels. Sensex Top Gainers include Nestle India (1.71 per cent), Induslnd Bank (1.71 per cent), ICICI Bank (1.70 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.66 per cent), and HDFC (1.10 per cent).   

Nifty 50 index gained by a small margin of 12 points and is trading at 16,137.75 levels. Bank Nifty jumped 373 points and is at a level of 34,663.90. The top gainers on Nifty 50 are SBI Life Insurance (3.41 per cent), HDFC Life Insurance (3.13 per cent), State Bank of India (1.76 per cent), Induslnd Bank (1.75 per cent), and Nestle India (1.74 per cent).  

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 2,393.45 crore on May 24 while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 1,948.49 crore.
