Watch out for these penny stocks locked in the upper circuit on July 8

The Indian equity benchmarks i.e. BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 started the last session of the week in the green, building on one-month closing highs in the previous session. Gains in financial, IT, and oil & gas sectors pushed the headline indices higher.   

  

Tata Power plans Rs 7,50,000 crore Capex push in green energy. JSW Steel's consolidated output raises by 16 per cent. The shares of Mahindra & Mahindra zoomed 37 per cent in three months. Besides, the shares of Titan surged 10 per cent in the last five days on robust sales. The metal stocks rallied as China considered a $220 billion stimulus plan.  

  

BSE Sensex opened in the green territory with decent gains of 263 points and is currently trading at the level of 54,441 at 10.37 am. BSE Midcap index too climbed 18 points and trades at 22,630 levels. Likewise, BSE Smallcap jumped 102 points and trades at 25,671 levels. Sensex Top Gainers include Larsen & Toubro (3.44 per cent), Axis Bank (2.51 per cent), NPTC (1.82 per cent), Axis Bank (1.31 per cent), and ICICI Bank (1.29 per cent).   

   

Nifty index gained 81 points and trades at 16,214 levels. Likewise, Bank Nifty saw a surge of 265 points to trade at 35,185 levels. The top gaining indices on Nifty are financial services, information technology, media, and private bank. On the other hand, oil & gas, PSU banks, and realty sectors witnessed the selling.

 

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 170.51 crore on July 11 while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) too sold shares worth Rs 296.99 crore.
