The Indian markets on Thursday hit new record highs as they rose for the eighth straight day, joining a generally bullish trend in global markets. The September quarter of FY23 saw a slowdown in India's economic growth to 6.3 per cent.
At 11:47 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex climbed by 243 points at a level of 63,342 level. In the broader market, S&P BSE Mid-Cap too soared by 130 points and is at a level of 26,081. Likewise, the Small-Cap index jumped by 278 points and is trading at 29,797 levels.
The Nifty 50 index inched up, gaining 65 points and is trading at 18,824 level. The Bank Nifty, likewise soared by 136 points, trading at 43,367 levels. Tata steel, ONGC, and Coal India were the heavily traded stocks on the Nifty50 index today.
On November 30, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) turned out to be the net sellers of shares worth Rs 4,056.40 crores and the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) turned out to be net buyers of shares worth 9.010.41 crores.
