Watch out for these penny stocks locked in the upper circuit on April 22

The barometer index, S&P BSE Sensex fell 297 points or 0.51 per cent to 57,613.96 at 11.50 am today

On April 22, 2022, post the reports of quarterly earnings, the shares of Aditya Birla Money, Hindustan Zinc, Tata Metaliks, Tejas Networks, and Wendt (India) climbed 1.14 per cent, 0.66 per cent, 0.98 per cent, 1.46 per cent & 1.19 per cent, respectively. Meanwhile, ahead of its quarterly earnings set to release on April 23, 2022, the shares of ICICI Bank plunged 1.40 per cent.

The barometer index, S&P BSE Sensex fell 297 points or 0.51 per cent to 57,613.96 at 11.50 am today. At 17,289.25, Nifty 50 index fell 103 points or 0.59 per cent. S&P BSE Midcap index decreased 0.04 per cent and trades at 24,864.33 levels. S&P BSE Smallcap index inched higher by 0.45 per cent and trades at 29,491.98 levels.  

In the crypto world, Ethereum (ETH) and Binance Coin (BNB) tumbled 2.16 per cent & 2.07 per cent, respectively. Besides, Bitcoin (BTC) and Dogecoin (DOGE) slumped 1.94 per cent each.  

CRISIL climbed 3.06 per cent. The credit rating agency's consolidated net profit rose 45.6 per cent. The stock of HCL Technologies also gained 2.06 per cent as its consolidated net profit increased by 4.4 per cent.

Sensex Top Gainers include HCL Technologies (2.03 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (1.45 per cent), Bajaj Finance (0.67 per cent), Bharti Airtel (0.54 per cent), and Tech Mahindra (0.22 per cent).  

The top gainers on Nifty 50 are Adani Ports (3.67 per cent), HCL Technologies (2.02 per cent), Britannia (0.42 per cent), and Maruti Suzuki (1.51 per cent).  

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 713.69 crore on April 20 while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 2,823.43 crore.
