Wabag leaps forward after bagging order worth USD 100 million

VA Tech Wabag is an Indian Multinational Group with expert knowledge and know-how in water technology. It has bagged an order worth about USD 100 Million for engineering and procurement activities of 120 million gallons per day from Hassyan Sea Water Reverse Osmosis in the United Arab Emirates. This order was received from Green EPC (a Utico FZC subsidiary) which is the prime EPC contractor for this water recycling project. 

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority choose Utico FZC to build the plant and function it for 35 years, under the Independent Water Producer model, wherein Dubai Electricity and Water Authority will off-take 100 per cent of the water from this plant. This is the largest desalination plant planned to be commissioned in phases by March 2024 and shall be the largest Independent Water Producer in Dubai. 

The project is in the course of Dubai's Clean Energy Strategy 2050 initiative to make the best use of use of green energy for the production of desalinated water and aims at using solar power to support the power requirement of the plant during day time. The project is a vision of HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote the create a sustainable plan and for development of Dubai.
