Under Rs 25: Renewable Company Completes Major Upgrade of 12 Wind Energy Generators, Projected to Boost PBT by Rs 19 Crore Annually!

In a significant development, Beta Wind Farm Private Limited, a key subsidiary of the Orient Green Power Company Ltd, has completed the upgradation of 12 out of 15 Wind Energy Generators (WEGs) as of October 1, 2024. The remaining three WEGs are expected to be upgraded by March 31, 2025.
According to a review by Er. V V Narayanan, Government Approved Valuer, and Chartered Engineer, the upgraded WEGs are performing as expected. Upon completion of all 15 upgrades, the wind farm is projected to generate an additional 4.16 crore units of electricity annually, contributing approximately Rs 19 crore in revenue each year. The full impact of this upgradation will be reflected from FY 2025-26, with the company expecting an annual profit before tax (PBT) increase of Rs 19 crore, as wind power generation incurs no direct costs.

Today, the shares of Orient Green Power Company Ltd closed at around Rs 20.46 per share on the BSE. The company’s current market capitalization stands at Rs 2400 crore. Additionally, the shares have delivered an impressive return of around 70 per cent in the past 1 year.
As per the Quarterly Results, in the Q1 FY25, Orient Green Power Company Ltd recorded a revenue of Rs 63.44 crore compared to Rs 78.68 crore. The operating profit stood at Rs 40.82 crore. The net profit stood at Rs 6 crore compared to a profit of Rs 9.29 crore. Looking at the annual performance, the company generated a revenue of Rs 271 crore in FY24. The operating profit for FY24 was Rs 180 crore with a net profit of Rs 38 crore compared to a net profit of Rs 30 crore in FY23 representing a 15 growth on a YoY basis.
