Trident jumps on grant of patent by European Patent Office

Trident Limited has been granted the patent for ‘Terry fabric weave and resulting Terry fabric’ by the European Patent Office.

The present invention relates to Terry Fabric weaves, a method for weaving Terry fabric comprising such weaves and resulting Terry fabrics. In particular, the invention relates to terry fabrics having improved material effectiveness, pull resistance, absorbency, softness, and uniformity of texture.

The grant of this patent provides further recognition to the quality of the innovation being carried out by Trident.

In November, the company had been granted the patent for ‘Apparatus and Method for treating an industrial Effluent containing Sodium Sulphate’ by Indian Patent Office, the Government of India. The invention was related to the treatment of industrial effluents. The invention provides an apparatus and method for treatment of industrial effluents that contain a plurality of soluble or insoluble contaminants, including sodium sulphate, which may be discharged from textile dyeing process.

On December 13, 2019, the equity share of Trident having face value of Rs 10 each was split into 10 equity shares with face value of Re 1 each.

On Wednesday, the stock of Trident closed at Rs 6.95. On Thursday, it opened at Rs 7.15, up by 2.9 per cent.
