Indian benchmark indices ended the session significantly higher; with more than 2 per cent gains recorded in the BSE Oil & Gas and BSE Energy sectors, led by Indian Oil Corporation. Fast-moving consumer goods, financial services and metals sectors also attempted to boost indices.
The BSE Sensex surged 0.75 per cent to 65,205 level at the close. The Nifty 50 index climbed 0.70 per cent to a level of19,322.
