At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a red of 18.19 points or 0.02 per cent. By 9.17 am, the index stood at 80,551.53 signifying a gain of 136.93 points or 0.17 per cent over its previous closing.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals jumped by 0.20 per cent, power plunged by 0.03 and auto soared by 0.06 per cent.
Meanwhile, Saregama India Ltd, Orient Electric Ltd and Sapphire Foods India Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Saregama India Ltd an S&P BSE company, surged 5.12 per cent to trade at Rs 522.90 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Orient Electric Ltd rallied 4.59 per cent to trade at Rs 253.85 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Redtape Ltd an S&P BSE company, climbed 4.55 per cent to trade at Rs 884.50 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
