Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 132.92 points or 0.116 per cent. By 9.17 am, the index stood at 81,464.70 signifying a loss of 146.71 points or 0.18 per cent over its previous closing.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals jumped by 0.14 per cent, power zoomed by 0.16 and auto soared by 0.05 per cent.

Meanwhile, Bandhan Bank Ltd, Wockhardt Ltd and Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Bandhan Bank Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 6.63 per cent to trade at 200.20 apiece. Bandhan Bank has officially announced the appointment of Partha Pratim Sengupta as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO), following the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) approval.
Also yesterday, the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company (NCGTC) has completed the detailed forensic audit of claims made by the bank under the Credit Guarantee Fund for Micro Units (CGFMU) scheme, and assessed the total claim payout to the Bank under the CGFMU scheme as ₹1,231.29 crore as on March 31, 2024.
Wockhardt Ltd rallied 5.00 per cent to trade at Rs 994.95 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 4.99 per cent to trade at Rs 596.05 apiece. The company with have the Investors/ Analysts conference call on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 09:00 a.m. (IST) on the Unaudited Consolidated and Standalone Financial Results of the Company for the quarter ended September 30, 2024.
