At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 15 points or 0.02 per cent. By 9.17 am, the index stood at 80,826.56 signifying a loss of 223.44 points or 0.28 per cent over its previous closing.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals dropped by 0.40 per cent, power plunged by 0.70 and auto slipped by 0.25 per cent.
Meanwhile, Kesoram Industries Ltd, JSW Holdings Limited and Redtape Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
