Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex stood flat with a slight gain of 12.15 points or 0.02 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index further strengthened at 72,000.20 signifying a gain of 58.63 points or 0.08 per cent over its previous closing.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals rose by 0.48 per cent, power gained 0.47 and auto rose by 0.30 per cent.
Meanwhile, IFCI Ltd, APL Venus Pipes & Tubes Ltd and IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
IFCI Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 10.00 per cent to trade at Rs 64.02 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Venus Pipes & Tubes Ltd rallied 8.33 per cent to trade at Rs 1574.00 apiece. The stock rallied as the company announced its financial results for the quarter ended December 31, 2023 with 52 per cent rise in revenue at Rs 207.13 crore, while net profit doubled to Rs 23.27 crore from the previous year’s corresponding quarter.
IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 6.06 per cent to trade at Rs 63.51 apiece. The stock rallied as the company's Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) won an arbitration claim against NHAI for the Yedeshi-Aurangabad NH211 BOT project. NHAI is required to compensate IRB Infrastructure Trust with approximately Rs 1,720 crore, including interest.
