At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 349.54 points or 0.49 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index stood at 72,022.56 signifying a gain of 174.99 points or 0.24 per cent over its previous closing.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals rose by 0.22 per cent, power gained 0.86 and auto rose by 0.65 per cent.
Meanwhile, Welspun Enterprises Ltd, Craftsman Automation Ltd and Reliance Power Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Welspun Enterprises Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 4.08 per cent to trade at Rs 348.00 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Craftsman Automation Ltd rallied 2.90 per cent to trade at Rs 5206.15 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
