Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 189.90 points or 0.26 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index further strengthened at 71,693.87 signifying a gain of 337.27 points or 0.47 per cent over its previous closing.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals rose by 0.55 per cent, power gained 0.90 and auto rose by 0.69 per cent.
Meanwhile, Torrent Power Ltd, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd and Adani Total Gas Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Torrent Power Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 5.82 per cent to trade at Rs 998.95 apiece. On January 03, the company announced that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Rs 47,350 crore with Department of Energy & Petrochemicals, Government of Gujarat as part of Investment Promotion Activity for Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 for establishment of 3,450 MW of Solar Power Projects, 1,045 of Hybrid Power Projects, associated infrastructure for 7,000 MW Solar project, Green Hydrogen / Green Ammonia Production Facility and Capex for Distribution network.
Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd rallied 4.54 per cent to trade at Rs 59.40 apiece. The bank posted its key business highlights for the quarter ended December 31, 2023 with total deposits increasing by 29 per cent YoY to Rs 29,869 crore. Gross loan book was up 27 per cent to Rs 27,791 crore with affordable housing portfolio saw highest ever quarterly disbursement of Rs 595 crore, up by 73 per cent.
Adani Total Gas Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 4.36 per cent to trade at Rs 1147.00 apiece. The company signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shigan Quantum Technologies Ltd to decarbonizing the supply chain by creating an ecosystem which will enable transitioning to cleaner fuels such as CNG and LNG.
