At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 75.07 points or 0.12 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index stood flat at 60,315.56 signifying a slight gain of 14.98 points or 0.02 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals fell by 0.09 per cent, power stood flat and auto gained 0.06 per cent.
Meanwhile, City Union Bank Ltd, Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem Ltd and J.B.Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
City Union Bank Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 9.98 per cent to trade at Rs 146.50 apiece. The company announced in its exchange filing that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the reappointment of N. Kamakodi as managing director and CEO for a period of three years with effect from May 1, 2023.
Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem Ltd rallied 6.46 per cent to trade at Rs 1729.95 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
J.B.Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 3.08 per cent to trade at Rs 2159.95 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
