Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 246.23 points or 0.41 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index further strengthened to 59,113.86 signifying gains of 122.34 points or 0.21 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals stood flat, power was up by 0.19 per cent whereas auto fell by 0.08 per cent.
Meanwhile, Caplin Point Laboratories Ltd, Angel One Ltd and Orient Cement Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Caplin Point Laboratories Ltd, a S&P BSE company, surged 4.77 per cent to trade at Rs 650.00 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Angel One Ltd rallied 4.46 per cent to trade at Rs 1331.10 apiece. The company reported revenue from operations of Rs 826 crore surged 21.2 per cent YoY compared to Rs 681 crore previous year’s same quarter for the quarter ended March 31, 2023. Net profit zoomed 31 per cent YoY to Rs 267 crore compared to Rs 205 crore a year ago.
Orient Cement Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 3.60 per cent to trade at Rs 123.90 apiece. The company informed about the upcoming board meeting to be held on April 28 to consider and approve the audited financial results for the quarter and financial year ended March 31, 2023.
