Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 68.96 points or 0.12 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index strengthened to 60,023.00, signifying gains of 176.49 points or 0.29 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals were up by 0.33 per cent, power jumped by 0.66 per cent whereas auto gained by 0.34 per cent.
Meanwhile, National Standard (India) Ltd, Shilpa Medicare Ltd and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
National Standard (India) Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 9.50 per cent to trade at Rs 5777 apiece. The stock has been hitting its upper circuit for the sixth day in a row. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Shilpa Medicare Ltd rallied 5.49 per cent to trade at Rs 246 apiece. The company has received USFDA approval for its ANDA, Apremilast Tablets, 10 mg, 20 mg, and 30 mg for the treatment of adult patients with active psoriatic arthritis.
Kotak Mahindra Bank, a private sector bank, climbed 4.15 per cent to trade at Rs 1832 apiece. Kotak Mahindra Bank has increased the interest rate of its fixed deposits (FDs) of a select tenure by 25 basis points. The interest rate on deposits maturing in two to three years has been hiked from 6.75 per cent to 7 per cent.
