Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today

These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.

At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 261 points or 0.45 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index strengthened to 58,474.60, signifying gains of 514.51 points or 0.89 per cent.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals shined by 0.23 per cent, power strengthened by 0.74 per cent whereas auto was trading flat.

Meanwhile, Agi Greenpac Ltd, CSB Bank Ltd and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.

Agi Greenpac Ltd, a S&P BSE SmallCap company, surged 19.67 per cent to trade at Rs 379.95 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.  

CSB Bank Ltd, a S&P BSE 500 company, rallied 8.47 per cent to trade at Rs 272.75 apiece. Yesterday, the company announced a revision in the Base Rate from existing 10.35 per cent per annum to 10.20 per cent per annum with effect from 01.04.2023 onwards.

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd, another S&P BSE SmallCap company, climbed 7.33 per cent to trade at Rs 463.40 apiece. Today, the company reported that it has entered into a contract with the Ministry of Defence, Government of India for construction of 04 Nos. Next Generation Offshore Patrol Vessels (NGOPV) at an estimated cost of Rs 3,500 crore.
