Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 173.16 points or 0.28 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index strengthened to 59,810.68, signifying gains of 65.7 points or 0.11 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals were down by 0.12 per cent, power weakened by 0.65 per cent whereas auto surged by 0.16 per cent.
Meanwhile, Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd, Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd and Venky's (India) Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd, an S&P BSE SmallCap company, surged 5.92 per cent to trade at Rs 929.95 apiece. Yesterday, the company announced that it has received approval from the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) for enhancement in maximum permissible annual production of manganese ore. With this, the company's production limit has increased from 2.86 lakh tonnes to 5.82 lakh tonnes.
Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd, an S&P BSE 500 company, rallied 5.73 per cent to trade at Rs 662 apiece. On Tuesday, the board of directors of the company approved the appointment of Mr. Terje Bakken as an Additional Director of the Company in the capacity of Independent Director for a first term of 3 consecutive years w.e.f. February 20, 2023, subject to approval of shareholders of the company.
Venky's (India) Ltd, another S&P BSE SmallCap company, climbed 5.26 per cent to trade at Rs 1743.95 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
