Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 302.66 points or 0.49 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index was trading at the level of 60,872.19, signifying loss of 160.07 points or 0.26 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals got hammered by 0.25 per cent, power weakened by 1.2 per cent whereas auto was trading flat.
Meanwhile, Valiant Organics Ltd, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd and Torrent Power Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Valiant Organics Ltd, an S&P BSE SmallCap company, surged 15.59 per cent to trade at Rs 495 apiece. Apart from the result announcement at the start of the month, the company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd, another S&P BSE SmallCap company, rallied 7.69 per cent to trade at Rs 139.30 apiece. This surge came on the back of strong Q3FY23 results, which were reported yesterday. As per the filing, the company's total income stood at Rs 911 crore as against Rs 764 crore in Q3FY22. Profit After Tax reported was at Rs 265 crore as against Rs 149 crore in Q3FY22.
Torrent Power Ltd, an S&P BSE 200 company, climbed 6.16 per cent to trade at Rs 485.05 apiece. Yesterday the company announced its Q3FY23 results. Its revenue from operations stood at Rs 6,443 crore in Q3 FY 2022-23 compared to Rs 3,767 crore in Q3 FY 2021-22, up by 71 per cent YoY.
