Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 460.04 points or 0.77 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index was trading at the level of 59,579.87, signifying gains of 79.46 points or 0.13 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals shined by 0.12 per cent, power weakened by 0.60 per cent whereas auto surged by 0.40 per cent.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals Ltd, Bengal & Assam Company Ltd and Century Plyboards (India) Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals Ltd, an S&P BSE 500 company, surged 17.45 per cent to trade at Rs 799.90 apiece. This rally comes ahead of the company's board meeting, which is set to be held next week to declare its Q3FY23 results.
Bengal & Assam Company Ltd, an S&P BSE SmallCap company, rallied 4.41 per cent to trade at Rs 4,299 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Century Plyboards (India) Ltd, another S&P BSE 500 company, climbed 4 per cent to trade at Rs 504.95 apiece. This rally comes ahead of the company's board meeting, which is set to be held next week to declare the results for the December quarter.
