At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 145.45 points or 0.23 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index further strengthened to 61,172.06, signifying gains of 230.39 points or 0.38 per cent.

Meanwhile, VST Industries Ltd, JM Financial Ltd and Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.

VST Industries Ltd, an S&P BSE 500 company, surged 5 per cent to trade at Rs 3300 apiece. This rally comes ahead of the company's board meeting, scheduled tomorrow, to approve the Q3FY23 results.

JM Financial Ltd, another S&P BSE 500 company, rallied 4.55 per cent to trade at Rs 73.50 apiece. Apart from the board meeting intimation, the company has not made any significant announcement of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.

Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd, an S&P BSE SmallCap company, climbed 4.51 per cent to trade at Rs 56.80 apiece. Yesterday, the company announced its Q3FY23 results. As per the exchange filing, the bank’s profit for nine-months is up by 85 per cent YoY to Rs 721.05 crore from Rs 389.36 crore, clocked during the corresponding quarter last year.
