Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 132 points or 0.22 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index further strengthened to 60,209.49, signifying gains of 309.12 points or 0.52 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals shined by 0.77 per cent, power strengthened by 0.27 per cent whereas auto surged by 0.36 per cent.
Meanwhile, Timken India Ltd, Indoco Remedies Ltd and IDBI Bank Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Timken India Ltd, an S&P BSE 500 company, surged 4.30 per cent to trade at Rs 4.30 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Indoco Remedies Ltd, an S&P BSE SmallCap company, rallied 4.29 per cent to trade at Rs 410 apiece. This surge comes after a group change notification.
Currently, the company is a constituent of Group A. It should be noted that w.e.f January 11, the shares of the company will become a part of Group B.
IDBI Bank Ltd, an S&P BSE 200 company, climbed 4.23 per cent to trade at Rs 61.55 apiece. On January 5, the bank disclosed an application made by the central government for reclassification of its holding as 'public' in the bank, post strategic disinvestment.
