Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 247.66 points or 0.40 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index was trading at the level of 61,881.54, signifying gains of 179.25 points or 0.29 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals shined by 0.21 per cent, power strengthened by 0.06 per cent whereas auto surged by 0.5 per cent.
Meanwhile, Sheela Foam Ltd, Glenmark Life Sciences Ltd and Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Sheela Foam Ltd, an S&P BSE 500 company, surged 7.56 per cent to trade at Rs 1393.95 apiece. Today is the ex-date for the company's bonus issue of shares in the ratio 1:1.
Glenmark Life Sciences Ltd, an S&P BSE SmallCap company, rallied 7.25 per cent to trade at Rs 453.95 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in its share prices could be driven purely by the market forces.
Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd, another S&P BSE 500 company, climbed 5.72 per cent to trade at Rs 307.95 apiece. Yesterday, the company announced their third acquisition of Mittal Corp Limited with a foray into the Stainless Steel (SS) / Wire Rod & Bar Mill business. This inorganic growth will witness the establishment of manufacturing footprints in the state of Madhya Pradesh and add capacities of 1,50,000 tpa Stainless Steel (SS) / Wire Rod & Bar Mill. Ferro Alloys, a key input material for Stainless Steel, is extensively produced by the existing companies of Shyam Metalics and Energy.
