Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 871.53 points or 1.40 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index was trading at the level of 61,832.61, signifying loss of 349.06 points or 0.56 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals got hammered by 0.60 per cent, power weakened by 0.4 per cent whereas auto slipped by 0.5 per cent.
Meanwhile, Jaiprakash Associates Ltd, The New India Assurance Company Ltd and Matrimony.com Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today. Barring Jaiprakash Associates Ltd, the other two companies have not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in their share prices could be driven purely by the market forces.
Jaiprakash Associates Ltd, an S&P BSE SmallCap company, surged 7.02 per cent to trade at Rs 11.43 apiece. This rally comes ahead of a board meeting, which is set to be held today, by the Board of Directors of the company, inter-alia, to apprise the Board of the recommendations of the audit Committee and the progress on the various divestment initiatives of the company.
The New India Assurance Company Ltd, an S&P BSE 200 company, rallied 4.21 per cent to trade at Rs 115 apiece.
Matrimony.com Ltd, another S&P BSE SmallCap company, climbed 3.62 per cent to trade at Rs 598 apiece.
