Top 5 large-cap performers of 2018
The year 2018 was very volatile for large-cap stocks. The S&P BSE Large-cap index has struggled in the last one year and currently, it has settled at the same level where it was one-year back at 4,223. It had touched a 52-week high of 4,573.03 on September 3, 2018, and 52-week low of 3,867.52 on October 26, 2018. However, out of 225 companies, only 71 companies have managed to generate a positive return since last year.

The one who outperformed the large-cap index is L&T Technology Services. It has reported 36 per cent yoy jump in revenue and 47per cent yoy jump in net profit in the recent quarter Q2FY19. In the second position is Bata India which has performed despite expensive valuation with around 30 per cent yoy jump in its net profit in Q2FY19.
Larsen & Toubro Infotech also performed out of the box with 33 per cent yoy jump in revenue and 47 per cent yoy jump in its net profit in Q2FY19. Under the NBFC sector, Bajaj Finance has outperformed Sensex for the last 10 years and maintained its mark. And last but not the least is Abbott India which has also gained on account of healthy volume growth and strong balance sheet.
