This PSU Adds Rs 6,200 Crore to Its Massive Rs 1.6 Lakh Crore Order Book

The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 134.7 crore for Q3 FY25 as against a net profit of Rs 60 crore in the year-ago period.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has strengthened its already substantial order book by securing a Rs 6,200-crore contract from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) in Kolkata. The order pertains to the Steam Generator Island Package for the 2x660 MW Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase-II project in Purulia, West Bengal. The contract was awarded following an international competitive bidding process.

According to BHEL’s exchange filing, the scope of work includes:

  • Supply, Erection, Testing & Commissioning of the Steam Generator and Auxiliaries, ESP (Electrostatic Precipitator), FGD (Flue Gas Desulfurization) systems, and Ash Handling Systems.
  • Electrical and Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Systems.
  • Associated Civil Works.

The completion timeline for the facilities is estimated to be 48-52 months.

BHEL reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 134.7 crore for Q3FY25, a sharp rise compared to Rs 60 crore in the same quarter last year. The PSU’s consolidated revenue from operations surged by 32.3 per cent, reaching Rs 7,277.1 crore, up from Rs 5,504 crore in Q3FY24.

Over the last 12 months, BHEL’s share price has declined by 5.56 per cent. The stock currently trades at a TTM P/E ratio of 133.36x. Current market capitalisation stands at Rs 69,223 crore.

BHEL’s outstanding order book now stands at a massive Rs 1,60,157 crore, reinforcing its strong project pipeline and revenue visibility.
