For the sixth day in a row, domestic bourses ended down with the Nifty falling below 15,300, while shares of Titan plunged more than 6 per cent. 

The S&P BSE Sensex, the barometer index, fell 135.37 points, or 0.26 per cent to 51,360.42. The Nifty 50 index slid 67.10 points to 15,293.50, or 0.44 per cent. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index was down 0.68 per cent today, while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 0.88 per cent.

The rupee was stronger versus the dollar in the foreign exchange market. It was hanging around 78.08, down from its previous trading session's closing of 78.1025. Gold futures on the MCX increased 0.30 per cent to Rs 51,140 for the August 5 2022, settlement. Brent crude for the August 2022 settlement declined USD 1.08, or 0.90 per cent, to USD 120.89 a barrel on the commodities market. 

On the BSE, 999 shares climbed and 2,330 shares fell and 92 shares remained unchanged. There were no stocks locked in the upper circuit today, and no stocks closed in the lower circuit as well. In today's trade, 50 stocks have reached a 52-week high and 448 stocks have made a 52-week low. The Dow Futures increased 202 points, predicting a positive start to today's stock market in the United States.
