TelOne Zimbabwe selects Tejas Networks DWDM solution for network capacity expansion

TelOne, one of Zimbabwe’s largest telecom entities has deployed Tejas Networks’ 100G/100G+ coherent DWDM solution. 

Tejas Networks’ state-of-the-art 100G DWDM/OTN solution was selected by TelOne after a competitive bidding process and a successful field trial. The company was able to successfully demonstrate the high-speed transmission of multiple 100G lambdas while meeting the stringent performance and reliability requirements in a cost-effective manner. 

TelOne has the widest network coverage in Zimbabwe with connectivity across the country along with strong connections to multiple undersea cable systems and shareholding in the West Indian Ocean Cable Company (WIOCC), which has a major stake in the Eastern Africa Submarine Cable System (EASSy). 

This DWDM/OTN solution has unlocked many opportunities for the service providers to multiply the available capacity on their networks by more than 10X, without being limited by their existing network deployment. 

On the financial front, in FY21, Tejas Networks' international revenue grew 62 per cent YoY and was 40 per cent of total revenues compared to 33 per cent of the total revenues in FY20. It had healthy order inflows especially from Africa and Southeast Asia. 

On Monday during the early morning session, the stock of Tejas Networks was trading 4.3 per cent higher at Rs 195.80 from its previous close of Rs 187.65 on BSE.
